Mary: The translation of Moujik is not “Russian Peasant”. Moujik/Muzhik is an everyday/informal description of “man”, used more like — “dude”, “that guy”, or “hey, man”. Also used for a rugged/unrefined man, or as a compliment (go figure!) like, “what a guy!” (Vot Muzhik!). Lastly, it’s used by women when they are fed up with men: “B***t, Muzhiki!” (Ugh, men!) haha.
