Georgia mascot bulldog Uga VII dies
Although this blog is about fun with dogs, every now and then I have to share some tragic news as well. This is one of those times.
Uga VII, the latest in the 54-year line of University of Georgia football mascots died of a heart attack on Thursday. The white English bulldog was only 4 years old, and his nearly 2-season tenure was the shortest for any bulldog in the Uga line. Uga VII made the sideline debut of his short career against Georgia Southern in the season opener on Aug. 30, 2008. He was also the biggest of the line at 56 1/2 pounds.
