Although the official Guinness record holders for the World’s Smallest Dog by height (Boo Boo) and by length (Brandy) have remained unchanged for years, there are new contenders surfacing every year as new tiny puppies are being born.
Two years ago we wrote about tiny Elwood, now rewind to 2012, and we have 2 little dogs that may turn out to be the smallest in the World, once they classify as grown-up dogs.
Milly is a half year-old Puerto Rican Chihuahua, who was only 3 inches (7.5 cm) tall recently and weighed 6 ounces (170 grams). With such a fragile little body Milly will really have to be very careful to avoid the fate of one of the earlier contenders, little Scooter.
Milly’s main rival now is a Californian dachshund mix named Beyonce, who was still smaller than an iPhone at 1-month old in April. Dachshunds are not a common breed when it comes to the competition for being the smallest dog in the world, which is dominated by chihuahuas and Yorkshire terriers.
So which of them would you like to become the official smallest dog in the World? Maybe the videos will help you decide:
